Are you doing Underground / Mine Tours?
No - the decision has been made not to do our Underground Tours . This is due to a number of reasons.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes - we allow well behaved dogs on the Museum site, Museum building and on the train. Please clean up after them - thank you.
Can I put a push chair on the train?
Yes - there is space for a push chair in the guard's van. Alternatively it can be left on the platform.
Can you take a wheel chair on the train?
Yes - we have a ramp and there is space for a wheel chair in the guard's van.
Do I need to pre-book tickets to visit?
No - there is no need to pre-book tickets, just turn up on the day. However, tickets do need to be booked for our very popular Santa trains.
Do you have a cafe?
Not at present - this is something we plan to address when we have our new Museum building. We can offer take-away style tea or coffee and usually have a selection of locally produced traybakes available. We also stock cold drinks, ice creams, chocolate and crisps.
Do you have toilets?
Yes - we have toilets, however we don't currently have a fully accesible toilet.
When can we book to come and see Santa?
We will announce dates for our popular Santa Specials in late summer. We aim to have an online booking system that will go live in September.
